Blockwork and ground floor wall framing

The past 2 weeks has seen the blockwork go up and be core filled, and the internal walls downstairs are framed up. The stairs have been started and the sub floor for upstairs is going on. Exciting! We are getting a good idea of the internal spaces downstairs now, and I'm really happy with the layout. The ground has been shaped and the retaining walls sealed and back filled.
Looking up the left side of the house. It has since been shaped a bit more.

Looking towards the front left of the house - granny flat lounge - from the rear of the garage/laundry.

Ponderings on exterior colours

We are at the point where we need to select our windows and roof/gutter/fascia colours.

This is where I am leaning:

Windows, gutter, fascia - all Colorbond Monument
Colorbond Monument
Roof - Colorbond Dune
Colorbond Dune

Walls - Dulux Ghosting Half and Mole Grey
Dulux Ghosting Half
Dulux Mole Grey

Windows have been ordered in Monument, so that can't change now! I wanted to keep the roof colour lighter, but I like the contrast of the darker gutter/fascia and windows - it makes them really pop. We might do something darker on the parapet around the garage too, still deciding.

We're going vertical! (At last!!)

This week saw the exciting start of the block walls downstairs. This is the progress after only one day:

Unfortunately this was followed by some rain, but they are back on site today so hopefully they'll all be up really soon.

Slab is done and blocks have arrived

Today we drove past and the slab is all finished. The blocks have been delivered for the downstairs walls, and the will go up next week. Things are going to start moving very quickly now!

Slab - Part 1

This week has seen the start of the slab. So far the left side is complete, and the right side is framed up ready to start.

One of the things we noticed is how incredibly tall the poles are at the back! These will support the skillion roof above the back deck. There was definitely a moment of "OMG! What have we done!?!" but I am positive when it is all built it will look amazing. We now need to decide how to handle the ground at the left side of the house up against the neighbour fence. It's likely a bit more shaping and a small retainer is in order here.

Foundations are poured and plumbing is in. Next week should see the slab done. You can as the posts for the back of the upstairs and deck at the rear.
